Flower Care Tips
- Remove Extra Foliage Remove any leaves that will fall below the water line.
- Cut the Stems Use a sharp knife to cut one or two inches off the stems at an angle.
- Use Fresh Lukewarm Water Immediately place the freshly cut stems carefully in lukewarm water.
- Use a Flower Preservative Mix the flower preservative according to the instructions to ensure you nourish rather than harm the flowers.
- Repeat Every Few Days Every few days repeat the steps above using fresh water and preservative.
Considerations for Flower Selection
Style
Just as the style of your home or event could probably be described as casual, traditional, contemporary or an eclectic fusion of the preceding; the flowers which adorn it should also reflect your chosen style. A sleek modern home would be well complemented by exotic orchids or bold calla lilies in a tall stainless steel vase. Lifespan
Certain fresh cut flowers, such as carnations, are well known for their longer lifespan. While other flowers may typically have a shorter expected lifespan. Therefore, it is important to choose the blooms carefully based on their intended usage. Quality silk flowers can also be an excellent option to consider when a more permanent display would be desirable.
